Families in need are provided holiday "fixings" along with groceries to last an entire month. Items are collected and divided for the families to pick up.
Win is asked to donate a decorated tree each winter to be auctioned off to benefit Newtown Youth & Family Services.
WIN sponsors one Newtown family in need each holiday season. Items are bought and wrapped for delivery in time for the holidays.
WIN members prepare baked goods individually wrapped for distribution at the Red Cross Blood Drives sponsored by the Newtown Lions Club.
WIN Members assemble Easter baskets filled with candy, stuffed animals and goodies. These baskets are distributed to children in need.
Helping our senior citizens and disabled residents continue to live independently in their homes, WIN members assist with basic home upkeep and yard work.
WIN supports the Newtown Food Pantries and other similar organizations by adopting 2 rows (select, plant, cultivate and harvest their crops) and donating all the produce.
WIN hosts a booth at the Lion's Pootatuck Duck Race each Memorial Day Weekend. We sell candy and necklaces as a fundraiser and provide info about our organization.
Each year WIN provides a scholarship through the Newtown Scholarship Fund to a deserving female High School student who has excelled in community service.
WIN supports the Newtown Regional Hospice Chapter by purchasing a table and attending their annual appreciation breakfast for the volunteers, caregivers and support services.
WIN helps support our local Faith Food Pantry by providing baskets for donations at local businesses and by collecting donations at our monthly meetings.
WIN selects groups and/or families in need to send donations. For example, each year we carve and donate the pumpkins and funds to the Great Pumpkin Challenge.
